At Just Governance, we design our programs to be inclusive, respectful and psychologically safe for all participants — including young women, gender-diverse people and those with lived and living experience.

We recognise that many people come to governance spaces having experienced exclusion or harm. Safety is not assumed — it is actively built into how we design and facilitate the program.

What this looks like in practice:

• Clear group agreements
  We establish shared expectations at the outset, including respectful language, pronoun use, and how we respond if harm occurs.

• Active facilitation
  Facilitators guide discussions to ensure all voices are heard and intervene where needed to address harmful dynamics.

• Multiple ways to participate
  Participants can engage through speaking, chat, small groups or reflection — recognising different comfort levels and communication styles.

• Inclusive content and examples
  Case studies and discussions are designed to reflect diverse lived experiences and challenge traditional assumptions about leadership and governance.

• Supportive learning environment
  We prioritise psychological safety, encourage curiosity over judgement, and create space for people to learn without needing to have all the answers.

• Ongoing reflection and improvement
  We continuously refine our approach based on participant feedback and engagement with diverse communities.
