About us

Our Mission

Our mission

Inclusive, future-focused governance.

We believe decision-making works best when it reflects the people it serves. That’s why Just Governance is working to expand who sits at the table, whose voices are heard, and how leadership is defined.

Our story

Founded in 2025, Just Governance began with a simple idea: boards should reflect the communities they serve. We work with young women, gender-diverse people, and those with lived experience to open up pathways into decision-making. By combining governance training with systems-change advocacy, we are building a more inclusive and just future.

Our Mission

What We Do

Informed by ongoing conversations with young women, gender-diverse people, and those with lived experience, we create accessible pathways into governance — equipping participants with the skills and support to apply for decision-making roles. We also work with boards and organisations to open up recruitment practices and embed inclusion at the centre of decision-making.

Who we are

Just Governance is a social enterprise dedicated to embedding inclusive governance across community, not-for-profit, and social enterprises in Australia. Founded by Dr Kath Hall, an internationally recognised governance expert, we work with aspiring leaders and for-purpose organisations to build boards that reflect the communities they serve.

Support inclusive governance

Just Governance is located on the lands of the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples of the ACT. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all First Nations peoples. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded and that the lands were always and will always be, Aboriginal land.
